SRT Debuts at IROS 2025 | Conference Showcases Cutting-Edge Achievements, Qiantang River Banquet Fosters In-Depth Dialogue

From October 19th to 25th, 2025, the premier global academic conference in robotics—the 2025 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025)—was held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. This grand gathering of the robotics community, returning to the Chinese mainland after nearly two decades, brought together over 7,000 experts, scholars, and industry representatives from around the world. Beijing Soft Robot Technology Co., Ltd. (SRT) participated comprehensively in this global academic event.

SRT Sponsors the Frontiers in Soft Robotics Workshop

On October 20th, the second Frontiers in Soft Robotics Workshop at IROS 2025, sponsored by SRT, was held as scheduled. As a key component of the conference, this workshop focused on the translation of cutting-edge soft robotics technologies into real-world application scenarios, promoting the practical application of soft robots. The agenda balanced authority and innovation, featuring invited talks from leading scientific experts and industry pioneers, as well as openly solicited presentations from young researchers, effectively fostering interdisciplinary and intergenerational academic dialogue.

On the same day, Dr. Wang Yang, SRT's Head of Research, delivered a keynote report titled "Specific Applications of Soft End Effectors" at the workshop. He elaborated on SRT's strategic layout and practical pathways for the industrial application of soft robotics technology and forward-looking collaborative R&D from four dimensions: the company's technological philosophy, the development prospects of soft robotics, its ten major product series with typical application cases, and future R&D directions.

During his technical presentation, Dr. Wang Yang further outlined the company's future technology roadmap centered on artificial muscles and electronic skin, referencing ongoing advanced projects such as the multi-degree-of-freedom biomimetic flexible arm, five-fingered dexterous hand, and flexible sensors. Simultaneously, through implemented cases like the intelligent production line for thermal cups and the medical rehabilitation glove, he detailed how SRT integrates multiple core soft technologies into integrated system solutions covering perception, decision-making, and execution. These presentations comprehensively demonstrated SRT's achievements in advancing soft robotics technology from the laboratory to industrialization, highlighting clear goals rooted in practical needs and deepening industry-academia-research integration, which garnered high attention and lively discussion among attending scholars.

As the workshop drew to a close, SRT's representative presented awards to the recipients of the "Frontiers in Soft Robotics Outstanding Speaker Awards," recognizing academic innovation and encouraging more researchers to contribute to breakthroughs and application exploration in soft robotics technology.

Driving the Future with Technology

Promoting Consensus through Openness

To foster deep integration between academia and industry, the "Qiantang River Banquet," organized by the IEEE/RAS Technical Committee on Soft Robotics and sponsored by SRT, was held on the evening of October 20th. Experts in the field of soft robotics from around the world gathered in an open atmosphere, engaging in in-depth exchanges on topics like flexible perception and intelligent actuation. On site, SRT set up demonstration areas featuring a robotic tea art platform and interactive flexible arm solutions, vividly showcasing the adaptability of soft robots in unstructured environments and their potential for human-robot collaboration, creating resonance between cutting-edge academic theory and specific industrial applications.

This journey at IROS 2025 was not only a systematic demonstration of SRT's technical capabilities but also its all-round participation spanning academic exchange, industrial collaboration, and ecosystem building. Taking this as a new starting point, SRT will continue to dedicate itself to bridging frontier research and industrial application, integrating the inspiration and consensus gained from the conference into the exploration of next-generation intelligent flexible systems, continually infusing the global development of robotics technology with the flexible power of Chinese innovation.
