Recently, the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission (BSTC) and Zhongguancun Science Park Administrative Committee (ZSPAC) officially announced the 2025 Designation List of Beijing Key Laboratories. As the primary co-builder, SRT (soft robot) assisted the Seventh Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital in successfully spearheading the establishment of the "Beijing Key Laboratory for Pediatric Critical Care and Rehabilitation", which has now been formally approved.
The laboratory will focus on key equipment and technologies in pediatric critical care and rehabilitation, dedicated to innovation and translation in three core domains: Intelligent Pediatric Extracorporeal Life Support Systems, Cell and Gene Therapy Technologies, and Neurorehabilitation Human-Robot Interaction Systems. Leveraging its long-term expertise in soft robotics, human-robot interaction, and rehabilitation robotics, SRT (soft robot) will spearhead R&D and system development for extracorporeal life support and intelligent rehabilitation technologies. Specifically for extracorporeal life support, SRT's technological foundation in bionics-inspired structures and precision fluidic actuation – honed through projects such as the "Artificial Heart" – will provide pivotal technical support for developing intelligent pediatric life support systems.
Through sustained advancement in rehabilitation technologies, SRT's independently developed Hand Rehabilitation System has been featured as a new quality productive forces case study. The company maintains strategic collaborations with leading pharmaceutical groups to accelerate clinical validation and translational application of innovative technologies. Prior to this, SRT has successfully undertaken key municipal projects including:"EMG Mirroring Wrist-Hand Functional Rehabilitation System""Intelligent & Personalized Pneumatic Hand Rehabilitation Robotics Technology"accumulating profound expertise in both technological development and clinical translation. The laboratory's approval will accelerate SRT's R&D pipeline for soft robotics-based medical assistive devices, driving substantive progress in pediatric critical care and rehabilitation through continuous technological breakthroughs and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
To this end, SRT stands ready to collaborate with all partners in advancing pediatric critical care rehabilitation, contributing concrete industrial capabilities to elevate medical standards for children's health.
