Recently, a delegation from Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology (BJVT) led by Wang Wei (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President), accompanied by Xin Xiulan (Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President) and Zhu Yunli (Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President), along with directors of relevant functional departments and secondary colleges, conducted an inspection visit to Beijing Soft Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. (SRT). The delegation was received by Zhao Xin (Chairman of SRT), Bao Lei (Chief Technology Officer), Mao Liang (Product Director), and Yu Honghan (Education Director). Both parties held in-depth discussions on industry-academia-research integration in the robotics sector – a leading industry in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.

Accompanied by Mr. ZHAO Xin, Prof. WANG Wei and his delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the cutting-edge technological capabilities demonstrated by SRT, the world's only company that has achieved full-chain industrialization from research to commercial application in soft robotics. SRT has led the development of the first industry standard for soft robotics and pioneered the High-Elastomer Stress-Actuation Theory. The core technologies cover a wide range of interdisciplinary fields, including:
High-elastic macromolecular material modification technology
Integrated molding process for complex-cavity flexible bodies
Micro-nano molding technology for elastomers
"Soft-Drive-Rigid-Structure" (SDRS) rigid-flexible coupling design
High-precision, high-speed closed-loop pneumatic drive technology
Currently, SRT has successfully implemented the "Technology Breakthrough → Scenario Validation → Industrial Application" pathway in the food, hardware, and semiconductor industries, with multiple case studies demonstrating the practical applications of these advanced technologies.
Subsequently, both the university and the company engaged in in-depth discussions. Zhao Xin introduced the technical principles and application potential of soft robotics, showcasing SRT's technological expertise, R&D capabilities, and product portfolio within the soft robotics field. He also shared case studies highlighting SRT's deep industry deployments in the Food, Hardware, and Semiconductor sectors. SRT consistently upholds its mission: "To serve manufacturing enterprises and cultivate intelligent manufacturing talents." Zhao Xin expressed the company's hope that through deep collaboration with Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology, they could leverage the university's multidisciplinary strengths and intellectual resources to jointly promote soft robotics technology and explore broader application scenarios for soft robots. Following this, Yu Honghan and Ji Jingjing respectively presented information on: The implementation status of the On-site Engineer Specialized Training Program developed with the university. The progress of the 'Vocational Education Service for a Powerful Nation Construction' Industry-Education Integration Project. The collaborative scientific research initiatives being undertaken jointly by the university and the enterprise.
Wang Wei expressed full recognition of the collaboration efforts between the university and the enterprise and extended sincere thanks for the warm reception and high regard shown by the company. He pointed out that the flexible technology SRT focuses on is "a key track in the emerging future industries," and its technological innovation and broad applicability highly align with the university's positioning of concentrating on high-end precision industries in the capital city. Regarding future cooperation, Wang Wei proposed three directions: Expand cross-disciplinary collaboration scenarios to promote deep integration of technology between multiple university faculties and the enterprise. Jointly build new practical training platforms, creating teaching equipment R&D case studies to enhance their outreach and demonstration capabilities. Establish an innovative exchange mechanism to facilitate idea exchange between the company's technical experts and the university's research forces, thereby upgrading the collaboration between the two parties. Xin Xiulan highlighted that they would strengthen collaborative research, expand resource outreach, and build scientific and technological innovation platforms. Zhu Yunli emphasized that they would deepen teaching reforms and promote the deep integration of enterprise technology with the university's curriculum system.
During the event, witnessed by all attendees: Xin Xiulan and Bao Lei jointly unveiled the plaque for the "Soft Robotics R&D and Technology Transfer Center". Zhu Yunli and Mao Liang jointly unveiled the plaque for the "Vocational Education Service for a Powerful Nation Construction, Industry-Education Integration Project". Subsequently, Huang Dunhua and Yu Honghan then proceeded to sign a technical service cooperation agreement.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in integrating industry and education for SRT and Beijing Vocational University of Science and Technology. Moving forward, both parties will continue to deepen teaching reforms and technological innovation, integrating educational resources, talent development, industrial needs, and innovation chains into a cohesive ecosystem. This joint effort aims to cultivate more highly-skilled professionals for the advancement and application of soft robotics technology, ultimately realizing the shared vision: "Empowering diverse industries with soft robotics."
